Returnable Packaging

What quantity do we need to purchase to make returnable packaging worthwhile?
Great question…it isn’t necessarily the quantity you purchase but what your expendable packaging is costing each time you use it once and throw it away. We would be happy to do an analysis for you showing the break even point and how long it would take your company to begin enjoying the cost advantages of returnable packaging.

For many of our products we do.

We have never used returnable packaging, how do we know if it will work for us?
We will help you. We’ll come up with a trial quantity amount, make it on our sample equipment so there are no tooling charges, and we will set up a return plan and system so you can track the results. As always, we’ll do this at no charge.

How can we make sure we get our returnable packaging returned by our sister plants or our customers?
This is a great question. First of all, the fact that the returnable packaging does NOT look and feel like expendable (paper based) packaging, the tendency to throw it away is reduced drastically. Secondly, it is critical that there are key people responsible at your sister plant or customer’s plant for shipping the material back in a timely manner. Remember, THEY benefit from using returnable packaging too, so they have an incentive to ship it back. Thirdly, you can add a debit and credit program that has a cost associated with getting the material returned. While all of these steps may sound complicated, it is a simple program once it gets started.
